Broken letters when exporting to shape file with German words

I have words in German in my cartodb table with special letters (ä,ö,ü). When I export this table in a shape file than all these characters are broken. Is the export happening in UTF-8 encoding? It happens with several tables.

   Could you provide us with a file having this issue?

   Encoding issues should not be a problem, since UTF-8 is fully supported in CartoDB. We'll look into this, but an example file would be really helpful.

   Hi Fernando,

   check this table in my account and try to export it: ...cartodb.com/tables/319

   Example: Äquatorialguinea or Ägypten

   I open the downloaded files in QGIS and all German Umlaute are gone.

   I've checked your data and indeed there's a bug with our shp exports. We apologize for any inconvenient this issue could have given you.
